Rebecca Sinclair and Emma Rafferty make up Sinclair Rafferty Consulting.
We are passionate about supporting organisations to deliver results for the communities and people we work with and for.
Rebecca has a background working at senior organisational level with large international NGOs, designing and managing global programmes of differing sizes across the humanitarian and development sector, and leading strategic review processes. She has led successful proposal development processes for single and multi country bids, managed donor and consortia relationships and led the development of programme frameworks and approaches. She is passionate about gender equality and co-founded the FIND network to connect, empower and support women working in International Development.
Emma is a skilled fundraiser, with over 10 years’ experience. Her diverse portfolio includes working with large organisations such as Save the Children, and smaller charities such as SoundWaves Foundation. She has secured multi-million pound grants from institutional donors as well as funding from a range of trusts and foundations. She has worked at all stages of the funding cycle: developing a case for support; researching prospects; writing bid applications; and writing donor reports. She is also a qualified primary school teacher.
Together, we have worked on a diverse range of domestic and international issues, across a variety of issues including health, resilience, governance and human rights, gender, markets and livelihoods, disability and children and young people. Our experience ranges from leading organisational strategic development and change processes and managing multi-million pound programmes, to supporting much smaller, local charities with donor research, proposal development and grant writing for trusts and foundations.
We are also sisters! We took the decision to work together as freelancers to give us more flexibility while caring for our young families. We have also both experienced some of the challenges and frustrations when employing consultants ourselves and wanted to offer a different approach: one that combines quality with excellent communication to ensure our clients feel supported and informed throughout the process of working with us. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively, offering a friendly, down to earth approach and really listening to the needs of the people we work with to find the best way to maximise impact.
We would love to talk to you about how we could support you, whether you are just starting out as a charity and need help and advice to get up and running, or whether you are an established organisation looking for strategic or fundraising support or clarity on where you are headed.
